Robin (Puckett) Baker

February 9, 1959 ~ March 27, 2018 (age 59)

Robin Puckett Baker, 59, passed away on March 27, 2018, and went to be with the Lord after a long, courageous and dignified battle with Cancer.  Her Faith in God and her positive strength in her struggle were a remarkable testament and witness to so many who supported her during her illness.

Robin was born on February 9, 1959 in New Bern, NC to Robert McClean Puckett and Emily Luckey Puckett. The family later settled in Greensboro, NC where Robin graduated from Smith High School and the University of North Carolina-Greensboro. She was employed at Syngenta Crop Protection for 35 years until she retired due to her illness.

Robin was a faithful member of Main Street United Methodist Church, where she was loved and cared for by her church family, and where she had so many supportive friends. Robin took exceptional care of herself and took pride in being such the “little workout queen.”  She was an avid gardener and found great pleasure in her many beautiful flower arrangements each year. She loved the beach and so looked forward to retiring with Linny to their new home there.

Robin was preceded in death by her father, Robert Puckett and her sister, Terri Puckett.

She is survived by her loving husband, Linwood Baker of Kernersville, NC and her son and daughter in law, Matthew and Amanda Baker of Raleigh, NC, who she adored, along with her mother, Emily Puckett and her sister, Debbie Puckett and Cynthia Emerson of Greensboro, NC.  She is also survived by a large, loving extended family of brothers and sisters in law, cousins, her precious Aunt Elsie and by her two special nieces, Rachel Baker and Kathleen Baker, who she loved dearly. And let us never forget, her precious, loving, anxiety-ridden dog, Reese, who was her buddy and protector.

The family would also like to offer a special thank you to Dr. Peter Ennever, his nurses and staff, for all of the loving care that they gave to Robin. Dr. Ennever was not only her Oncologist, but became a kind and supportive friend, and we will always be thankful for his Christian compassion during her journey. Also, thank you to Dr. John Moody and staff at Wesley Long Cancer Center for their attentive care and support.

A funeral service to celebrate her life will be 2:00PM Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Main Street United Methodist Church, officiated by Rev. Dr. Claude Kayler and Rev. Rick Carter. A celebratory reception will follow in the church fellowship hall to welcome family and friends.

Memorials may be made to Main Street United Methodist Church, 306 South Main Street, Kernersville, NC 27284, Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro, or to the memorial of ones choosing.

One additional request that Robin would like to share is to remember to spend time with your family; laugh, love and share that love often; take long walks on the beach and wonder in God’s beauty; and cherish your enduring friendships, lifelong and beyond.
