Walnut Cove-Geraldine Anders Fletcher, 58, died Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem after a two year battle with breast cancer.

Funeral Services celebrating her life will be held 3:00 PM Friday, August 8, 2014 at Baux Mountain Baptist Church in Germanton. Interment will follow in the Mt. Gur Cemetery.

Geraldine was born in Richlands, VA to James Cleveland Anders and the late Gracie Lawson Anders. She worked over 30 years with special needs children at Horizon Residential Care and the Special Children School. She was also a Sunday School teacher for 25 years. She loved to visit the mountains, write children's short stories and to bring joy to others by singing.

In addition to her Mother, she also was preceded in death by her brother Gary Anders.

Survivors include her husband of 43 years Danny Andrew Fletcher; daughter Melissa Newsome and Marvin; son Robert James Fletcher and Tabitha; grandchildren Hayley, Kendall, Lauren, Karleigh, Kaylyn, Alyvia, Ella and Daisy; sisters Joyce Holmes and Bobby, Jill Luffman and Jeff, Pamela Marshall and Darrell, Gilda Kinzer; brother Brent Anders; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

The family will visit with friends from 6-8PM Thursday evening at Baux Mountain Baptist Church and at other times at her daughter, Melissa’s home, 4632 Stanley Court, Winston-Salem, NC 27101.
