Life Legacy
Kernersville-Frances Delores “Shorty” McGuire, 81, went home to be with her Lord June 7, 2012.
Funeral Services celebrating her life will be held 11:00AM Tuesday June 12, 2012 at Hampton Funeral Home in Boone. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Zionville.
“Shorty” was born in Banner Elk and was the daughter of the late Ada Belle Wilson and Roby Oscar McGuire. She was retired from the former Volvo-White Trucking in Greensboro. She also was a member of First Christian Church in Kernersville.
In addition to her parents, she also was preceded in death by her sister Jewell J. Moody.
Survivors include her son Larry G. McGuire of Texas; grandson Sean McGuire of Texas; and her loving niece and caregiver Rheba Lowry of Cleveland, Ohio; great niece Julie Lukjan; great nephews Stephan Lowry, and Michael Lowry; great-great niece Kiera Lukjan; great-great nephews Stephan Lowry, and Collin Lowry.
The family will visit with friends from 3-5pm Sunday afternoon at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Home in Kernersville, and from 6-8pm Monday evening at the Hampton Funeral Home in Boone.
