Ruth Addie Bull Kirk, 93, passed away January 9, 2017. A graveside service will be held 10:00AM Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Main Street United Methodist Church Cemetery.

A native of Guilford County, Ruth was the daughter of Sally Dean Bull and Charles Yancey Bull.  Ruth was a graduate of the Colfax High School.  Throughout her life, Ruth maintained her faith in God.  As a child, she was baptized into the First Baptist Church, Kernersville, NC.

After High School, Ruth moved to Washington D.C., to serve in a Civil Service capacity with the Federal Government during World War II.  Following the war, she returned to Guilford County to work for the Western Electric Company.  Later, a Pharmacy Technician position with the Echkerd Corporation was the position she fulfilled until retirement.

Throughout her life she found much joy in designing and maintaining her gardens at her homes in Greensboro and Chapel Hill.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Hal W. Kirk, Sr.; sisters Reba Ball and Mildred Dean Bowman.  She is survived by her sons William Howard Kirk (Cathy) of Cary, NC and Hal W. Kirk, Jr. or Louisville, KY; granddaughter Suzanne Gray Kirk of Orlando, FL; brothers Lewis Bull of Greensboro, NC, and Harry Bull of Hilton Head, SC; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff at Phoenix Assisted Care in Cary, North Carolina, for their professionalism and kindness in all issues pertaining to their mother’s health and well being during her final years.
