Max Ellis Polk, 53, passed away July 17, 2017 at his home, surrounded by his loving family, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Funeral services celebrating his life will be 10:00AM Saturday July 22, 2017 at Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Chapel, 213 West Mountain Street, Kernersville, NC. 

Max was born October 17, 1963 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Charlotte Stefaniak and Ellis Joseph Polk. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved son Jonah Webster Polk; brothers, Philip Polk and Brandon Polk.

He graduated with a degree in Computer Science from Cleveland State University and enjoyed a long career as a Software Developer.

Max deeply cherished his family and friends and his Savior. From music to technology to worship, he plunged into every endeavor with zeal and the perseverance needed to be successful.

He had a strong, confident personality that stood up for what he believed in.  He was not afraid to stand out of the crowd or challenge popular beliefs or norms.  Max always had a very witty sense of humor.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 27 years, Sarah Kyung Polk; children, Hannah Faith Polk, Jesse David Polk and Melody Grace Polk; brothers, Eliot Polk, Geoffrey Polk and a sister Mallory Polk-Milstein.

The family will visit with friends from 6:00PM to 8:00PM Friday July 21, 2017 at the funeral home.
